As craft beer lovers, many of us also love food. Pairing beer and food so that both enhance each other requires attention to the dominant taste and flavor elements in each. How do you approach pairing successfully?

The Brewers Associated has created a Craft Beer Characteristics Chart. This chart is great if you are planning a beer dinner. But this weekend the folks at BrüFrou will take care of the pairing for you.

The second annual BrüFrou craft beer and culinary pairing event takes place on Saturday, April 25th at Wings Over The Rockies Museum. This year’s event will feature more than 50 unique pairings.

BrüFrou is not your ordinary beer event; meet the brewers and chefs who have helped to put the Colorado craft beer and food scene on the map.

What will you experience?

New this year is TastyTalks. This intimate opportunity will give attendees an inside look into the pairings. TastyTalks takes place from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. before the afternoon tasting session.

BrüFaire: Culinary Handmade Market. This one-of-a-kind craft beer and fine foods themed outdoor faire will pop-up directly outside the event and feature handmade goods from Colorado-based artisans including non-perishable culinary items for the kitchen, dining room and bar, as long with ready-to-go perishable food items.

Expect pairings like Coda Brewing’s Breakfast Cream Stout made with oatmeal, milk, chocolate and coffee paired with Sugarmill’s caramelized passion fruit chiffon cake; Crooked Stave’s Vieille Artisanal Saison paired with Cart Driver’s smoked shrimp salad and TRVE Brewing’s Grey Watcher with Biju’s Yucca Frites and Sweet Plantain Mash with kereala beef curry.

Are you hungry and thirsty yet?
