Fresh Taps: Nov. 13th-Nov. 19th

Welcome to Fresh Taps. Each week Shea collects the most promising lineup of new and returning beers hitting taprooms and tasting rooms all over the state.

River North BPR A little slow this week, but still all sorts of tasty brews being put on tap for you. From big beers at TRiNiTY Brewing to a hop variety platter from River North, there’s plenty to taste in the middle of November. After all, it is the start of dark, aged, and spiced beer season. So go warm yourself up with a glass of fresh Colorado craft!

Shea’s Spotlight Tappings

Each week I’ll pick a few tappings that catch my eye, and taste buds.

If you’re a fan of Stone Brewing, then you better make plans to head over to Freshcraft this Friday from 7PM to 2AM. The Stone tap takeover will be full of Bastards – the Arrogant kind – and numerous other goodies. I highly recommend having the 2012 Russian Imperial Stout. I have aged this beer for a year, and it remains one of the best aged beers I’ve ever had.

Winter is Coming Fest And if you’re in the mood to get on with winter, Cedar Creek Pub in Aurora is your place to be starting Monday, November 18th and on through November 22nd. Cedar Creek will be celebrating their “Winter is Coming” festival, which means they’ll have a host of winter beers put on tap to celebrate the start of the chilly season, including numerous Christmas ales from breweries famous for them.

And if that’s not enough, Hops & Pie will be taken over by Dogfish Head on Saturday starting at noon. It’ll be a craft beer drinker’s dream with rarities such as Bitches Brew, a few I’ve never heard of, and a 2010 World Wide Stout – the 120 Minute of stouts. Oh, and speaking of the 120 Minute IPA…they’ll have that too…from 2010. Might want to wipe that drool off your face before the boss stops by.

Here’s the rest of the stellar fresh tappings across Colorado for the next week.
