Grapes vs. Grains

“Would you like something besides water with your meal this evening?”

What’s your immediate answer? Whatever it might be, keep an open mind, and palate. During this year’s Harvest Week,  The Colorado Brewers Guild takes on the Colorado Association for Viticulture & Enology (CAVE). The two will go head to head, pairing against  incredible courses from six amazing Denver restaurants:

  • Avenue Grill
  • Lucky Pie Pizza
  • Carmine’s on Penn
  • Slotted Spoon
  • LaLa’s Wine Bar
  • Vine Street Pub

The entire dinner includes six courses (five as part of the competition) as well as three passed appetizers, along with which you’ll enjoy signature cocktails made with local spirits by amazing mixologists.

We’ve hosted a few of our own smaller versions of the epic battle that is grapes vs. grains. Once, over cheese, beer came out victorious. A year later, throwing punches over chocolate, beer came in on top yet again.

Now, with a menu that on its own would make this night worthwhile, the Brewers Guild and CAVE will do their best to pair their corner better than their competitor can manage.

Who will come out on top? That’s up to you.
