Weekend off the Wagon in your inbox, every Friday

Jasmin didn’t burn the house down last week, so we might have to let her do more of these Weekend off the Wagon posts. But, me again this week.

This weekend hosts the Epic Beer Festival. We’ll be there, booth 921. Come say hi!

The winner of most-unique-summer-brew-fest goes to Knockin’ Rocks Brooms & Brewfest in Fort Collins. It’s near an ice rink, during a curling competition. Also, Renegade turns 2 and Twelve Degree opens. The Lobby just released their new menu, and they’re kicking it off with City Star Brewing and a Seafood Boil.

In the wine world, Somm is playing all weekend, there’s a fundraiser at Balistreri Vineyard, and you can learn about wine at Turquoise Mesa.

On Wednesday, check out the Independence Eve After Party at McNichol’s, and on Thursday, Jax Glendale opens their rooftop deck, Hi^Jax, with food, drink, and music.

What’s your plan this weekend? Did you get your Denver Passport yet?

Somm

SIE Filmcenter

With unprecendented access, SOMM takes the viewer on a humorous, emotional and illuminating look at a mysterious world very little is known about – the Court of Master Sommeliers and the much dreaded Master Sommelier exam.
The film follows four candidates attempting to pass the prestigious Master Sommelier exam, a test with one of the lowest pass rates in the world. The exam covers literally anything having to do with the entire world of wine and that is just the beginning. Access to the Court of Master Commeliers has always been strictly regulated and cameras have never been allowed anywhere near the exam…until now.
