If you’re looking for the perfect happy hour, I recommend you check out al LADO in Riverfront Park. The wine bar, brought to Denver residents by renowned Chef Richard Sandoval, offers cozy seating, a stunning menu and truly fabulous wines indigenous to Spain.
In February of this year, al LADO brought on Jeremiah Allen, formerly of Black Cat in Boulder, to lead the wine program. Jeremiah is clearly very passionate about creating a sensational experience for al LADO guests. He also brings great relationships in the distributor community, which provides unique learning opportunities such as ‘Thursday Night Pour’ where guests can sample a featured wine and learn from brand ambassadors for only $5.
Last week, I had the opportunity to experience a five-course dinner and pairing at al LADO. Jeremiah partnered with Nate Klatt, owner of Harvest Wine Co to create a food and wine experience featuring wines from De Maison, an importer focused on small, family operated vineyards in Spain.
The wine pairings were some of the best I’ve experienced. The Albarino and oyster pairing was absolutely stunning, as was the Amizade and striped bass. Check out the photo gallery below for detail on pairings.
al LADO provides several opportunities for guests to try new wines with several ‘specials’ throughout the week, including: 50% off bottles Sunday – Tuesday, Thursday Night Pour and Happy Hour beginning at 4pm on Fridays. My dinner guest asserted that al LADO tapas are the most authentic he’d tasted outside of Spain – so I encourage you to take advantage of Jeremiah’s wine expertise, the delicious items coming out of the kitchen, and indulge in an experience that’s sure to delight your senses!
