This weekend marks the end of Colorado Wine Week, and the Colorado Urban Wine Fest is the closing event. Check it out!

If you feel like getting outside the city this weekend, there’s the Taste of Fort Collins, SourFest, Carbondale Bread & Brew Fest, and the Snowmass Mammoth Festival.

Or maybe you’re sticking around town. Black Shirt Brewing has a collaboration with TiredPirate. Art and beer and awesome! Crooked Stave is holding their own mini SourFest too.

And on Sunday, there’s the free Festival for Water in Civic Center Park. The Motet, among other bands, are playing. Stop by!

We’ve added a new section to Weekend off the Wagon. At the end, we’ll list a few events further down the road that you can buy tickets to now.

Colorado Wine Week

In 2011, Gov. John Hickenlooper, a former beer magnat who has been a huge supporter of local everything, declared the first week of June “Colorado Wine Week” to coincide with the first annual Colorado Urban Winefest.

It has grown to feature seven days of local wine celebration, including:

* Colorado wine and small plate specials at top restaurants
* Specialized events almost every night of the week
* The annual Colorado Urban Winefest

Carbondale Bread and Brew Fest

The second annual Carbondale Brews and Bread Fest Presented By Sopris Liquor & Wine, held summer, 2013 at Third Street Center and PAC3 in Carbondale, CO. The Bread and Bread showcases the art of home brewing, the choices of craft breweries, the fragrance of community bread baking and the creativity of music and puppetry surrounded by renewable energy options and a mother of all mountains called Sopris.

Snowmass Mammoth Festival

The Snowmass Mammoth Fest is officially presented by the 10th Annual Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest. Snowmass Tourism is proud to announce this year’s new festival location, featuring more great music, on-site camping, and new event managers, SBG Productions, the founders and producers of Telluride Blues & Brews Festival in Telluride, CO. The 2013 festival will feature two days and nights of music and continue the traditional weekend of specialty chili and microbrew competitions with tastings. One of Denver’s favorite events for foodies, beer connoisseurs and oenophiles alike, Denver Botanic Gardens’ Garden Grapes & Hops event will take place Friday, June 7, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. and tickets still remain!

This annual summer event features food, drink and live entertainment in the natural beauty of the Gardens. General admission starts at $60 for members, and includes a tasting cup for unlimited beer and wine samples, as well as savory light bites by an eclectic mix of local restaurants including Sienna Wine Bar, WaterCourse Foods, La Sandia Tequila Cantina, The Cherry Cricket and numerous others. Governor’s Cup Awards Presentation and Reception

10 Minutes of Pleasure Bottle Release

TRiNiTY Brewing

Ten Minutes of Pleasure, Berliner Weisse. Collaboration beer between Trinity Brewing and New Belgium Brewing. This Berliner Weisse is raw and crude with authenticity. Brewed with over 50% wheat malts and never boiled to encourage the development of a soft sourness and high protein mouthfeel. To the kettle we added Soursop fruit creating notes of lemon and coconut. The Fermentation is a blended one imploring Lactobacillus, Bretta, and a German Ale yeast. Aged in fresh French oak Chardonnay barrels.

Highlands Ranch Beer Festival

Colorado, often called the “Napa Valley of Beer”, is home to over 160 local breweries and brewpubs. In celebration of our beer culture the HRCA proudly presents the 1st Annual Highlands Ranch Beer Festival. Live music, local and national breweries and lawn games will be present at this event. Unlimited one ounce samples and a souvenir tasting glass is Included in the ticket pricing. Must be 21+ to partake in tastings. Individual beer will be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit the Highlands Ranch Scholarship Fund.

The Festival for Water is a free event and concert (including the Motet!) with a great music lineup and amazing food trucks being held to benefit Water for People.

This free event is on Sunday, June 9th from 4pm to 9pm

All ages are welcome and the event is family friendly, so get everyone together and help support our mission. Remember this is a free event!
