Memorial Day Weekend is upon us. The official signal that chance of snow is down to a mere 50%, and that chance of an outdoor festival around every corner is up to 100%.
If you’re looking to get out of town this weekend, Vail and Beaver Creek are both celebrating the start of summer with food and drink. Or head up to the St Julien tonight for some terrace party delights. There’s also a full moon party down on Bannock Street this evening, if howling at the moon is more your style.
The one event not to miss this weekend? The Big Eat. Small bites and delicious sips from Denver’s independent restaurants, breweries, wineries, and distilleries, all in one place.
We’ve added a new section to Weekend off the Wagon. At the end, we’ll list a few events further down the road that you can buy tickets to now. You know, so you don’t miss out like you did for TRVE’s Slaughter.
All the details are after the break. What’s your plan this weekend?
Blues, Brews & BBQ
As the unofficial launch of summertime in the mountains, top barbecue chefs from around the state join local chefs in serving up mouth-watering barbecue complemented by thirst-quenching microbrews at one of the largest Colorado Microbrewery beer tastings. To make the 10th anniversary one to remember, this year’s event will feature a kickoff concert at the Vilar Performing Arts Center featuring the high-energy Chicago soul blues of Big James and the Chicago Playboys.
Other musical highlights include Dan Treanor’s Afrosippi Band Featuring Erica Brown, Too Slim and the Taildraggers and John Németh who will perform live at scheduled times during the weekend. Barbecue masters will be competing for bragging rights and $10,000 in cash prizes. On Saturday a panel of professional judges will rate pork, beef and side dishes according to appearance, taste and tenderness. This year, attendees will have the chance to text their vote on Saturday and Sunday to determine the People’s Choice winner for Best Barbecue Vendor. Selected winners will be crowned Saturday and Sunday at 4:10 p.m. on the main stage in Beaver Creek Plaza.

Ron Burgundy loves scotch. Brick Tamland loves lamp. Champ Kind loves fun. Brian Fantana thought he was in love with a Brazilian girl once…or a Chinese girl…at any rate, it was this girl, and he made out with her. These are the men of the Channel 4 News Team and they’re here to deliver… the news.
If you’re a man who’s never been to an ANCHORMAN Quote-Along, you’ve missed out on one of the most quote-able, drink-able, enjoyable nights of your life. And if you’re a woman who’s never been to the ANCHORMAN Quote-Along, I encourage you to dress like a man and try your luck at getting in…it is AnchorMAN, not AnchorLADY. And that is a scientific fact.
We’ve got a lot of fun props for you for this show, with mustaches for all and a yazz flute for you to play along with Ron during his melodically intense seduction of Veronica Corningstone. Prepare yourself for a hilarious and insanely ridiculous ride to Pleasure Town.

The waves are divided up into six categories: qualified runners (ones with proof they can run under 68 minutes), runners, joggers, jog/walkers, walk/joggers and walkers.
