Breck x Topo Collab Bag release party

7pm – 10pm

Fancy Tiger

Fancy Tiger Clothing announces an upcoming Civilized Living event focusing on the recent collaboration between local businesses Breckenridge Brewery & Topo Designs. Fitting with the urban outdoors feeling that both brands emanate they have collaborated on a limited edition backpack design that encompasses the unique lifestyle of Coloradoans. The versatility of this bag design allows the wearer to be biking around the city one moment, then hiking mount Evans the next. Once the evening emerges they can jump into a cab to check out their favorite local band.

Every element of this backpack was taken into careful consideration from the collapsible beer cooler insert to the functional bottle opener designed by Machine Era out of Richmond, VA (www.machine-era.com). Not only does this bottle opener serve a function but it is an ode to Breckenridge Brewery’s brew master Todd Usry who moved from Richmond, VA 21 years ago. The backpack is handmade in Colorado just like Breckenridge Brewery’s beer.

The debut event for this limited edition backpack design will take place Friday May 3rd from 7pm-10pm at Fancy Tiger Clothing, 55 Broadway. One lucky attendee will win a backpack which will be sold exclusively through Breckenridge Brewery’s website (www.breckbrew.com). Breckenridge Brewery will be serving beers from their small batch series including 471 Imperial IPA and 72 Imperial Chocolate Cream Stout. The after party for this event will be held at Larimer Lounge, 2721 Larimer St. and will serve as the album release party for local band School Knights, where Breckenridge Brewery will be pouring free beers. Free tickets to the after party will be given away during the event at Fancy Tiger Clothing.

3rd Annual Kentucky Derby Party

2pm – 7pm

The Bar Car

We’ve got bands – The Goonies, an ’80s supercover band is headlining. We’ve got That Damn Sasquatch, a Bluegrass band, playing prior to the race. We’ve got booze sponsors in the form of Jim Beam, Basil Hayden and Dry Dock. We’ve got Denver Deep Dish Pizza with a pie-eating contest. And of course, the hats. Yes, Kentucky Derby party hats are a must, so be creative. Make sure to avoid flammable substances, and nothing alive (Boy was THAT a fiasco a couple years back). And Mint Juleps. No one makes ’em better than the Drinkslinger.

And this year we’ve also partnered with a great cause: The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training – the world’s largest and most successful sports endurance charity. So they’ll be hosting our general carnival atmosphere, except without the “carnies.” There will be giveaways from liquor swag to concert tickets on hand.

So, get your best seersucker suit to the dry cleaners and mark the date on your calendar: May 4, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Drink up and be somebody.
