The Aftermath of NKOTB

IMG_7408 Saturday night, children of the 80s (and a few from either side of that decade) donned their best neon garb and crimped hair for a beer party extravaganza at The Lobby. Twenty-two breweries all under the age of 2 were represented by over 36 different beers rotating swiftly through 5 taps. A DJ rocked 80s tunes and music videos amidst neon paint and placed-to-be-popped balloons. Servers delighted guests with their favorite 80s snacks, including mac and cheese, sloppy joes, hot dogs stuffed with mac and cheese, and of course, tots.

Despite the “1-3 inch storm” that dumped 8-12 inches of snow on Denver, the sold out event was full of frolicking and shenanigans.

We’d like to give a huge thank you to Imbibe Denver and PorchDrinking.com for helping to throw this party, The Lobby for hosting it, and every single brewery in attendance for not only bringing their best beer, but for adorning costumes and throwing back suds with us till the early morn. A special thank you to three breweries for offering up free beer and schwag to our costume contest winners: City Star, Black Bottle, and Big Choice.

A picture being worth a thousand words, here’s 123,000 words for you:

The Westword was also in attendance, and took some great photos. Check them out!

About John Mogos

John brews beer (very unprofessionally) and keeps a very well stocked wine cellar. He's been to Belgium and Napa, but he is not pretentious, at least he likes to think so.
