What do you get when you mix 18 Denver breweries, an historic-library-turned-event-space, and 500 beer enthusiasts? The strong desire to make an overused perfect storm allusion. And the first ever Denver Beer Festivus – A beer festival for the rest of us.
Imbibe Denver and Denver off the Wagon teamed up to throw a beer festival with a few goals in mind. The first was to throw a beer festival that was affordable (sorry GABF, but scalping tickets at $100+ left us feeling a little raw). We also wanted to keep it local and personable so we decided to showcase only breweries that had a Denver address. Lucky for us, there were 18 breweries present at Festivus, all with Denver in their address! Our last goal was to make it unique… DJs, boozy cupcakes, brewers present to chat beer. All of this at the McNichols Building, an arts and cultural center located in civic center park.
Lucky for us, NVRVR was filming while we were drinking. They captured the casual, personable feel of the event. More importantly, they got honest interviews by the brewers explaining the Denver beer scene and what Festivus meant to them.
