Come one, come all! Drink excellent beer to benefit one of Denver’s own at the Strange Days Beer Festival at Rackhouse Pub. For those of you who may not have moved from under their own personal rock recently, a quick recap of what has been happening: the well loved, widely respected, and medal winning Strange Brewing Company is potentially facing a trademark infringement lawsuit from a similarly named home brew supply store in Massachusetts (more detailed info here). And they might need some financial assistance to fight this suit.
On Sunday, January 27th from 3 til 6 PM, come down to the Rackhouse Pub. A $25 ticket (available through only online through Brown Paper Tickets; no door sales) gets you inside. If you are feeling generous, additional donations will be accepted as well. All proceeds from the door and additional donations will go straight to a defense fund for Strange. Many breweries from across Colorado are donating delicious beer to the cause, which means that you can help one of our own and get your happy hour on too. In the ideal event that no litigation is pursued, all proceeds raised from this event will be donated to the Colorado Adaptive Sports Foundation.
Participating breweries include Grimm Brothers, Strange Brewing, Caution Brewing, Loveland Brewery, Big Choice Brewing, Very Nice Brewing, Breckenridge Brewing, Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brew, TRVE Brewing, Great Divide and Dry Dock. And more! So many awesome breweries! Having so much Colorado craft beer in one place AND the opportunity to help our friends at Strange is more than enough for me.
Although the legal posturing is ongoing, no one is sure if (our) Strange Brewing will need to go to court to defend themselves. However because Strange is part of the wonderful and supportive Colorado craft beer community, they will certainly not be going into this alone. Come show them some love on the January 27.
