Liquor

As a bartender and lover of hot cocktails, I have a few easy-to-make-at-home favorites. Whether you’re having friends, family, or a combo platter, hot cocktails make everyone warm and fuzzy.

Pins and Needles
This is a cocktail I created for Colorado Cocktail Project a couple years ago. It was in the finals and had the competition not been in June, I may have had a little more luck winning. This is Colorado in a hot cocktail:
1 1/2 oz Leopold’s Small Batch Whiskey (or Maryland Rye)
1/2 oz Leopold’s Three Pins Alpine Liqueur
1/2 oz Earl Grey Syrup
1/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Fill with hot water
Garnish: lemon or orange peel
Earl Grey Honey Syrup: 1/2 cup Colorado clover honey, put in pot on high heat burner until you see large bubbles. Add 4 cups room temp water and add 4 bags of your favorite Earl Grey tea and let steep for 5 minutes.

She's Secretary of the Colorado Bartenders' Guild and at Star Bar she proves that 12 years of industry experience backed by Catholic schooling make most fun bartenders. She feels the green Apples to Apples cards you win appropriately describe you as a person. Lover of cocktails and the spirits and stories that make them taste so good.
