Wynkoop Beers of the Year 2012

beers made by walking It has been an interesting year for Wynkoop. From B3k Black Lager to the Metacool Malt-U-Wanna all the way to the we-weren’t-sure-how-serious-they-were of the Rocky Mountain Oyster Beer. To celebrate an accomplished year, Wynkoop will be bringing out all the saints in dusting off all the cobwebs of every beer tapped in 2012 this Saturday, November 3rd, from 1-4 at the Wynkoop brewery( 1634 18th Street).

A $25 ticket (buy ‘em online here) gets you access to all these beers in addition to four special brews from Breckenridge, a few from Fort Collins Brewery and Mountain Sun, as well as some of the lingering flavors from this year’s Beers Made By Walking Benefit. Over 40 beers in all!

Two  brand new beers from Wynkoop will be making their shining debut at the event as well. Wynkoop’s Belgian Pear Cider – built from a trippel and taken to a new echelon with Colorado pear juice that clocks in at an 8.2% ABV. Also being tapped is The Chancellor – a single hop British strong ale aged in whiskey barrels for 16 months. The Chancellor comes to Wynkoop by way of Terry Foster, who discovered the 1930 Oxford University recipe. Be wary of this one; it packs a malty 14% ABV punch.

Beers of the Year attendees will be the very first to sample both of these beers before they are served to the public after the event on Saturday evening.
