Weekend off the Wagon – August 24-26

Weekend off the Wagon in your inbox, every Friday

Do you feel like getting out of town this weekend, or playing in the park? Both routes are full of some amazing options this weekend.

Get out of town

The Colorado State Fair in Pueblo starts this weekend, with a beer competition to boot! There’s also the Higher Ground Music Festival right above Central City. And if you feel like a drive, there’s a rock festival – The RIDE – in Telluride, among a half dozen other fests this weekend. But the two I can’t decide between?

The Bark and Bluegrass Festival up in Fort Collins and The Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival in Boulder.

Play in the park

There’s a Cornhole Throwdown in Congress Park on Saturday, and a charity kickball tournament in City Park on Sunday. Get some sun, get a buzz, and do it all for the greater good. Or just post up on a patio and watch the US Pro Challenge ride on by.

Whatever you choose to do, you should definitely check out Three Kings today for their RISE event, benefiting Aurora theater shooting victims. It should be an incredible event benefiting something close to home.
