And not only beer festivals, though there are a bunch of those. There’s wine festivals. And most importantly, there’s the 2nd Annual Colorado Distillers Festival.

Alliteration leads to some fun weekly events. Firkin Fridays are a great way to wind down the week and enjoy a beer of different flavor. The Wildlife Experience

This event features a dazzling lineup of musical entertainment, bountiful brews and tantalizing treats. Guests will soak up good food and frosty beverages from some of our finest local breweries and restaurants, and are welcome to peruse The Wildlife Experience’s galleries and exhibits that display the finest wildlife art and sculpture from around the world. Later, rock the night away with Denver’s own cover band, Flock of Beagles!

“Around the World in 80 Wines” Gateway Battered Women’s Fundraiser

Please mark your calendars for Friday, August 17, 2012 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Mayfair Liquors hosts a special wine tasting event to benefit Gateway Battered Women’s Services. The event will take place in the elegant setting of The Wellshire Event Center, 3333 South Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80222. The theme for the evening is “Around the World in 80 Wines”, so this is an event you should not miss!

Enjoy a plentiful dinner buffet, 80 wines, a silent auction, music by Jazz Pianist Linda Pihlak, strolling magic during the tasting with an hour magic show following the tasting. Yes, you read that correctly. And yes, all your dreams have come true. We’re going to start the night at Mile High Spirits. MHS is one of the best new places in Denver. Known for their spirits, infusions and moscow mules, this taproom is one of our favorite places to hang. After the sauce, we’ll walk over (it’s a whopping 5 blocks) to the Exdo Center where Down & Derby is throwing their monthly roller disco. Again, yes, roller disco. Skating, throwback jams, booze, you name it. The ‘theme’ is 80′s summer camp so summer camp tramps, short shorts, tube socks, lacoste polos, etc. Or just get real 80′s with it! Bootstraps is proud to present the 3rd Annual Bootstraps Western Winefest and Winemaker Dinners at Aspen Peak Cellars and Creekside Cellars.

The outdoor wine tasting festival will take place in Evergreen at the El Pinal Rodeo Grounds under the beautiful Colorado sky. The festival will feature 21 of Colorado’s best wineries as well as food from local restaurants and wine-related items available for purchase.

Included in the admission price is a complimentary tasting glass, samples from the participating wineries entertainment, and demonstrations. Wine will also be available for purchase by the glass and the bottle.

The festival is preceded by Winemaker Dinners at Creekside Cellars on August 13, 2012 and Aspen Peak Cellars on August 15, 2012.

Great Central City Beer Festival

The Great Centril City Beer Festival (GCCBF) means sampling some of Colorado’s best craft and regional beers (over 40 beers and ales will be on hand). Historical hayrides into the backwood of Central where the beer brewing industry was born over 150 years ago. Free live entertainment includes a rare Colorado show by Los Straitjackets. The GCCBF will also feature Jewel and The Rough playing your favorite hits along with Boulder’s own, the Riff Raff Family Band.

This is an all ages event with free music. Beer tasting and tours are $20 for general admission available at Ticketswest. Rain or shine.
