Weekend off the Wagon in your inbox, every Friday

It’s spring time! At least this weekend is spring-ish! If you’re not enjoying a drink under the sun, you’re doing it wrong. Though watch out for those thiols..

Track 1

Friday: Enjoy the last night of Restaurant Week. Start perusing Open Table for an open… uh.. table.

Saturday: Hit up the Brewery Boil at Denver Beer Co. Stuff your face. Then head over to Vesta for the Mustache Fest.

Sunday: Still hungry? Check out the oyster eating contest at JAX Fish House.

Track 2

Friday: If you’re into punk, ska, or just like a  good mosh pit, head over to Summit for Less than Jake.

Saturday: Rapids opening game! Start off at the British Bulldog or Three Lions, catch the bus to Dick’s, and enjoy the game and beautiful weather.

Sunday: Sunday Funday! I bet the parks will be packed. You should go find out for yourself though. Or maybe bottomless mimosas on a patio somewhere… that sounds good too.

See below for a detailed list for weekend events. Check out our full calendar to plan your events well into the future.

Oyster Eating Contest

2pm – 5pm

JAX Fish House

snag, slurp, swallow…repeat.

There are lots of ways to raise money for a worthy cause. You can walk, run, ride a bike, wear a wrist band, grow a mustache, gain weight, lose weight, or simply sit on your backside and write a check…but what if philanthropy could be tasty?

Each year, a very special group of gustatory gladiators rises to the occasion; they answer the call and months of training are put to the test. Every competitor is a champion before the starting gun even sounds, as their efforts directly benefit organizations in our local communities…and their dedication to their chosen task is unquestioned. Yet, they don’t run marathons, they don’t quilt, and they certainly do not sell cookies, candy bars or magazines.

They DO eat oysters. Lots of ‘em…and in a hurry…
