Twisted Pine Making Great Strides in 2012

Boulder, Colorado – January 18th 2012 – There is a strong buzz surrounding Twisted Pine Brewing Company these days.  In recent weeks, a number of developments have given the Twisted staff cause for enthusiasm – and rightly so!  The acquisition of new equipment gives the production crew the necessary tools to make sure 2012 is a booming year for the Boulder brewery.

For starters, the brew team is in the process of installing new fermentation and conditioning tanks.  The addition of these stainless steel vessels will allow for a nearly 40% increase in production over last year.  Brewer Jeff Brumley expresses his excitement at the prospect of making more beer, asserting that Twisted Pine “has been operating at capacity for about a year now, and this expansion enables us to satisfy more of the growing demand.”  The brewery will take advantage of this upgrade in capacity by adding at least one, and as many as three, more state(s) to their distribution network in 2012.  However, manufacturing more beer requires more hands on deck, and in anticipation of the current growth spurt, three full-time positions were added to the production unit in the last quarter of 2011.

In addition to the new conditioning tanks, cellaring efforts will also receive a boost from the purchase of an advanced filter system.  This improvement will contribute to faster filtration with better yields, both of which are encouraging gains for any brewer.  But most exciting of all are the enhancements being made to the packaging lines.

As of now a new bottler is already in use, permitting Twisted Pine to package their Artisan Ale Series in 750ml glass bottles.  This machine will soon see an increased workload with the planned introduction of the brewery’s Single Hop Series, the first release of which will be the Big DIPA, a Galena-hopped Double India Pale Ale slated to debut some time this spring.

The Twisted team is even more eager to test out their brand new canning line, which should be finished and in place by mid-April.  The brewers will inaugurate the equipment by packaging the popular Hoppy Boy IPA in attractive 16oz cans known simply as Tall Hoppy Cans.  Further information about the brewery can be found at

Surreal Stout – bourbon barrel-aged stout blended from different batches up to three years of age


Canis Lupulus – an Imperial India-style black ale double dry-hopped with Citra and Galena


Sacred Spice Porter – a chai-spiced porter using a chai concentrate blended specially for Twisted Pine by local Boulder company, Sanctuary Chai


Westbound Braggot – ??
