Denver Winter Brew Fest

The Denver Winter Brew Fest is fast approaching (Friday, January 27th) and tickets are selling fast (ok, so I made that part up – in truth I have no idea how fast the tickets are selling).  Anyway, this is going to be an awesome beer fest that you’re not going to want to miss.  I was lucky to attend the Denver Summer Brew Fest (click here to read my recap) and had a blast.  I anticipate this to be an equal amount of fun… but with more snow.  Here are the important details:

The Winter Brew Fest will celebrate craft beverages from around Colorado and beyond and features; live local music, food, and other vendors. This event benefits Swallow Hill Music Association.

Swallow Hill serves a large community with instruction and performance of musical art forms such as folk, blues, bluegrass, Celtic, jazz, world, roots, and dance.

Along with some of the best beers from across our great state, live music will be supplied by Kinetix!  “The type of band that reminds you why it’s fun to let loose – especially with a beer in hand! ”

Mile High Station – 2027 W. Lower Colfax Ave. Denver, CO
Time: VIP 6pm-10pm, General 7pm-10pm
Cost: VIP $40/$45, General $30/$35 Advance/At-Door

This event used to be great for the first few years. Now they oversell tickets, making it way too crowded for the space it’s in, and it’s the exact same breweries and beers year after year (with some very minor exceptions). It seems the crowd gets younger and rowdier with each festival; last year there was vomit-a-plenty on the floor, evidence of people who cannot hold their alcohol. Last festival they sold 2000 tickets, while past festivals only allowed between 1200-1400. For all these reasons, I have chosen not to attend 2011 Summer Brew Festival as well as Winter Brew Festival this month.

A beer list for this would be nice but like you said Leah I am sure it is an amateur hour festival with nothing more “exotic” than seasonal beers?.

I did a writeup about the summer one a few seasons back.

We’ll be there…looking forward to it!
