Josh’s Favorite Beer: The 8 minus 1 Seas Imperial IPA (More about 7 Seas name conflict)

Chris’s Favorite Beer: Baltic Porter (“It’s epically good and they don’t make it enough”)

Guest’s (Mark Hertwek’s) Favorite Beer: U-boat Hefeweizen (best Hefe made in the US?)

Why we love this brewery: Really some of the best beer in town… really. Awesome nautical theme, which makes sense because it’s in Colorado (right?). Cute bartenders. It started as a great homebrew shop.  You can still have a beer while you’re shopping for home brew supplies at The Brew Hut next door.

Why readers should love this brewery: GABF judges say they were the small brewing company of the year in 2009, which is no easy feat. You sit among the barrels in the tap room while you drink. Six 3oz samples for $6 is a smokin’-ass deal. Easily the best place in Aurora to drink booze.

Eating is cheating but here is what’s close by: They have popcorn at the brewery and there are various restaurants right across the street, you know, because it’s a strip mall in the suburbs.

When and if there are any special releases: Friday Firkin every week. Check here for that info.

Serviced by: Shannon

Shwag available: Shirts, hats, hoodies, and beer–not to mention there’s a whole home brew store here!

Listening to: The White Stripes – I’m Finding it Harder to be a Gentleman

Other possibly relevant info: One of the brewers, Bill Eye, is opening his own German style brewery called Prost Brewing in the next few months. Good luck Bill, you’re an amazing brewer and we cannot wait to see what you make!
