Why we love this brewery: The Yeti series. How brilliant are the seemingly endless and delicious variations of this beer: Original, Chocolate, Belgian, Oak Aged, Stranahan’s Barrel Aged, Espresso. We are pushing for a holiday peppermint version.

It’s hard to believe of a business that is less that twenty years old but Great Divide is the oldest brewery in Denver (brewpub Wynkoop not included). That means we have been able to grow up with the name and say that our dad’s beer wasn’t all that crappy after all.

Why readers should love this brewery: They donate beer sampler sales to charity, currently the Colorado Brewers Guild. Proximity to downtown makes it easy to plan a evening around and  helps take driving out of the equation with access to public transit. Also Cheese! They have cheese and beer pairings on the last Tuesday of every month.

Eating is cheating but here is what’s close by: Various food trucks serve curb side right out the front entrance. The Lobby across the street has great grub and one of Denver’s best patio’s.

When and if there are any special releases: Check their Facebook to stay updated on seasonal release parties.  Most recently was the Barrel Aged Yeti.  Keep an eye out for the Chocolate Yet, Collette and Anniversary Ale party forthcoming.  The Smoked Baltic Porter will soon be replaced as well.  Speculators say that it may be a Dopplebock or some type of sour beer.

Serviced by: Colin and Cory

Shwag available: You name it: Six packs, 750ml bottles, t-shirts, Yeti Mafia hoodies, baby onesies, ladies underwear etc.

Listening to: Boy George – Karma Chameleon

Other possibly relevant info: They got the wifis!
