Happy New Year! Everyone ready to drink, make out, drink, and pass out? Sweet, let’s do this.

We’ve got an ongoing list of bars with special hours, closings, and tappings, for this week. Check it out.

Track 1:

Friday: Hit up every bar you’ve been meaning to try this year. Every. Single. One.

Saturday: There are so many options for New Year’s Eve. Rackhouse is a great option. Great Divide tap takeover.

Sunday: Sleep it off. Find a bloody mary bar. Make your own first drink of 2012.

Track 2:

Friday: Star Bar for the Dogfish Head Tap Takeover

Saturday: The Lobby has a 20s party, food, music, and it’s in a good location to bar hop to the few no-cover spots.

Sunday: Honestly, if you go out Saturday night and you’re ready to rock Sunday, drop us a line. We want to talk to you.

16th Street Mall

The sky will once again sparkle over the 16th Street Mall this New Year’s Eve with the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Downtown, presented by the Downtown Denver Partnership. Co-sponsors of the display are VISIT DENVER and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District.

As part of the Partnership’s Winter in the City program, the two spectacular fireworks shows will occur at 9 p.m. and Midnight, taking place simultaneously at two undisclosed sites along the 16th Street Mall. It is recommended that viewers stand along the 16th Street Mall for optimal viewing.

New to the festivities will be six live DJs performing along the 16th Street Mall. Each will play Top 40 music from 8pm to midnight, and will do a live countdown at the 9pm fireworks show.

The music and fun will also continue at the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park, where Denver’s popular DJ Chonz will perform live at the rink from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. The rink will open at 10am on New Year’s Eve and remain open until 11:00pm. It will reopen on New Year’s Day at 10am. For more information, please visit www.SouthwestRink.com.

Additional activities in Skyline Park will include the Allstate Insurance’s “Designated Texter” display, designed to educate the community on the dangers of texting and driving through activities. This is one of ten rallies taking place across the country. Participants will have a chance to win two tickets to the Jordin Spark’s Superbowl Party in February.

That resolution you’re considering? The one about staying sober in 2012? Drinking less? Being mindful of your liver?

Don’t even bother.

Rackhouse and Great Divide are teaming up to make sure you start 2012 off right: on your couch, trying to piece together how the hell 2011 even ended. 20 taps, a Stranahan’s toast at midnight, Whiskey King Coalition rocking you into the new year, and no cover.

Seriously. Don’teven bother making a resolution. Unless it’s to drink more awesome stuff next year.
