Parade of Darks raises $12,890 for Metro CareRing

Great great great news from Marty over at Wynkoop. This year’s Parade of Darks raised almost $13,000 for Metro CareRing!

Our Dec. 3 Parade of Darks fundraiser exceeded our goals for big fun, great beer and hearty fundraising for Denver food pantry MetroCareRing. The grand total was a whopping $12,890.

We brought in $9100 through ticket sales (way beyond our $7500 goal) and additional dough from the event’s silent auction and a separate donation Web site we set up in conjunction with the event.

With Metro CareRing’s dollar-stretching, donated-food-gathering, almost-all-volunteer efforts, that money provides a whopping 97,000 meals and feeds the group’s clientele for a month. That’s huge.

We send out big thanks to the generous and eager breweries who donated their beer and time and helped make the event possible. The beer list for the Parade was incredible.

We are sure fortunate to count so many generous, talented, passionate people in our list of beery allies.

Thank you very much for any advance coverage you were able to do on the Parade of Darks. We received some wonderful coverage, it played a key role in bringing out the crowd and making our fundraiser a success.

We’ll do the event again next year on the first Saturday of December 2012.

I’m attaching a shot of Metro CareRing staffers and volunteers holding the check we presented to them.
