Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s a special edition of Weekend off the Wagon. Hopefully you’re not working all week.
A few ideas on what to bring to Thanksgiving Dinner.
Track 1:
Thursday: Thanksgiving with friends, family, enemies, whatever.
Friday: Sausage Fest at Denver Beer Co.
Saturday: All the breweries! Dry Dock’s Ho Ho Ho Slapdown to Caution’s ThanksBEERing to Renegade’s Benefit for the Homeless.
Sunday: Eat leftovers, watch football, sleep. Rinse. Repeat. But seriously, rinse.
Track 2:
Thursday: Eat at one of the many Thanksgiving Dinner offerings around town.
Friday: A very Denver day. Check out the Model Railroad open house at Union Station, then over to Civic Center Park for the Grand Illumination Light the Lights, followed by a stroll down the 16th Street Mall with all the music and holiday cheer.
Saturday: Up to the mountains with you! Sam Adams Rare Beer Tasting at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek should be splendid.
Sunday: Since you’re already in the hills, take some turns! Pick me up a growler at Backcountry Brewing on your way back, too.

The Muppet Elmo is one of the most beloved characters among children across the globe. Meet the unlikely man behind the puppet – the heart and soul of Elmo – Kevin Clash. The film traces Kevin Clash’s rise from his modest beginnings in Baltimore to his current success as the man behind Elmo, one of the world’s most recognizable and adored characters. Millions of children tune in daily to watch Elmo, yet when Kevin walks down the street he is not recognized. Pivotal to the film is the exploration of Jim Henson’s meteoric rise, and Kevin’s ultimate achievement of his goal to become part of the Henson family of puppeteers. In addition to puppeteering Elmo, Mr. Clash is arguably the creative force behind today’s Sesame Street, producing, directing and traveling around the globe training other puppeteers. Includes interviews with Frank Oz, Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Carroll Spinney, Joan Ganz Cooney, Marty Robinson, Fran Brill, and Bill Barretta.

Renegade is joining together with Manna From Heaven Gourmet Food truck to raise money to help out the homeless. All tips and 10% of sales from both businesses during the event will go to Denver’s Road Home. There will also be a food drive to benefit Denver’s Metro Care Ring. Bring a non-perishable food donation and be entered to win some awesome prizes (including beer!). Suggested items include hearty canned soups, canned tuna, peanut butter, and canned fruit.
