Beer vs. Wine Cheese Pairing at Le Grand

We’re throwing a party. You’re invited!

November 8th at Le Grand (1512 Curtis), we pit wine against beer. Much like the age-old battle between ninjas and pirates, beer and wine each have their competitive advantages. The arena for this battle is set: cheese.

On the tail end of American Cheese Month, we present to you a five course pairing spectacular. The night will start with a short explanation of the magic that is cheese, by a representative of the Denver-based American Cheese Society. Then the battle begins. Master Sommelier Doug Krenik and Certified Cicerone Ryan Conklin will go head to head, defending the merits of their respective beverages to pair with five award-winning North American cheeses.

Le Grand has set aside a private room just for the event. After the votes have been placed, the winner announced, and the appetites whet, all attendees can head over to the bar for happy hour pricing well after the end of happy hour. This includes $1.25 oysters and happy hour pricing on drinks, among other things.

$20 gets you in. Proceeds will benefit the American Cheese Education Foundation.

Doors open at 6, and the event kicks off promptly at 6:30. We’ll be done by 8:30, releasing you and your new found appreciation for cheese, wine, and beer out into the wild. Buy your tickets now!
