Wagon Team Takes 2nd Place in Deschutes Scavenger Hunt

photo 5 We snapped pictures in the  Teddy Roosevelt suite, hugged the big blue bear, and spewed one-liners in front of Comedy Works.

These were a few of the missions that 4 of us Wagon writers plus Hop Press writer Brian Leplla completed during the Deschutes Base Camp scavenger hunt.  Base Camp is described as “A multi-venue, multi-event celebration of Mirror Pond, where any serious craft brew exploration begins.”

The Deschutes crew is driving Woody all over the country, bringing joy to craft beer fans in select cities.

Teams that joined in the scavenger hunt included The Westword, Yelp, Colorado Water Trust, and Republic National. The Off the Wagon team tried their best but was edged out by  Yelp.  I like to think we drank the most beer though.

Deschutes isn’t done with their Denver festivities. Here’s what they have going on the rest of the week:

  • Wednesday 10/19 – Whole Foods Boulder, Meet the Brewer & Pint Glass Giveaway 11am-1pm
  • Thursday 10/20 – Dry Dock Brewing, Hats off to Homebrewers 4-7pm; Lannie’s Clocktower Caberet;, Beer-Lesque: Tastings & Tassles 8pm-11pm
  • Friday 10/21 – Liquor Mart Boulder, Base Camp “Tailgate” 4-6pm; Baker St. Pub and Grill Boulder Abyss 4 year vertical tasting, Music by Places 8pm-11pm
  • Saturday 10/22 – Old Chicago Boulder, Firkins & Football 1pm-4pm; Quixote’s True Blue, Base Camp Finale with Steve Kimock and Friends 8-Close

Thanks to Deschutes for the good times and good beer. Count us in for next year.

Here are some of our team shots from the hunt.
