Colorado Brings Home 44 GABF Medals and the Most Gold

Colorado wins at beer, period.

The Centennial State brought home 44 medals at the 30th annual Great American Beer Festival, and only California brought home more with 51.

Here are the top 5 states by medals won:

  1. California – 51
  2. Colorado – 44
  3. Oregon – 15
  4. Illinois – 12
  5. Indiana & Washington – 10 (TIE)

Now, are you one of those people who watches the Olympics and thinks, “Screw total medals, who has the most GOLD”?

Me too.

Top 3 states by gold medals won:

  1. Colorado – 17
  2. California – 16
  3. Washington – 5

Nicely done CO brewers. Nicely done.

Actually, it’s 39 for Colorado. 5 of those medals were for Rock Bottom (Louisville, CO) breweries that were out of state. Only 1 out of the 6 Rock Bottom medals were for Colorado. So it’s really 39, not 44.
