Weekend off the Wagon: 7/28 – 7/31

If I had my weekend my way (with my multiple clones) these are some of the tracks I’d pick:

Track 1:  Beers and Parties

  • Thursday: Jump up to Oskar Blues to hit the back-to-back beer fun of Beer Culture the Movie and Firestone Walker
  • Friday:  Check out the Denver County Fair and maybe see Billy Broas at the Homebrew Competition.  If I have time, stop by Bull & Bush for their ’40 in 40′ Release the Hounds
  • Saturday:  Sweeeeeet!  Dragon Boats!  And then dressing in an awesome 1950s dress to Tiki it up (Beach Boys’ style) at Star Bar
  • Sunday:  Stroll through the various Farmers’ Markets, Head up to Buffalo Bill Days, and then stop in at Bull & Bush for New Belgium Day

Track 2: Music and more Music

  • Thursday:  check out the Denver Confluence Concert (or one of the many others)
  • Friday: Wake up early and book it up to Golden for Buffalo Bill Days
  • Saturday:  Check out either the last of the Colorado Renaissance Festival or head down to Buena Vista for their Collegiate Peaks Music Festival for some Keller Williams
  • Sunday:  Stay up in the mountains-ish and head to Evergreen Jazz Festival

Track 3: Wine and Beer, Hops, and Hot Dogs

  • Thursday: grab my guy and head to either the Beer vs. Wine Dinner or the Wine Tasting and Silent Auction
  • Friday: Check out the 7th Annual Hops for Habitat Brewfest
  • Saturday:  Check out the Wild West Shows at Buffalo Bill Days in Golden followed by an Outlaws game or Bull & Bush’s De Ranke Saison de Dottignies
  • Sunday:  Wake up, check out the Farmers’ Market and go see the Hot Dog Eating Contest

But that’s me with clones.
