5th Annual Loveland Loves Barbecue — Day 1
Nestled beneath the majestic Rocky Mountains, Loveland, Colorado is host to the fourth annual Loveland Loves Barbecue cook-off. Competition is Friday, July 8th from Noon to 9pm and Saturday, July 9th from 11am to 7pm at the southwest corner of Cleveland and 5th street in historic downtown Loveland. Judging will include the big four – beef brisket, chicken, pork ribs, and pulled pork. Entries of sauces, desserts, side dishes, and “anything goes” will also be judged.

Breckenridge is a unique mountain resort in comparison to its neighbors in that it is an authentic historic mining town full of full-time outdoorsy residents who want nothing more than to introduce visitors to the bike paths, trails and roads that make up their backyard bike playground. Breck Bike Week will do just that. In addition, Breck is surrounded by a trail network the width and breadth of which is unsurpassed in North America, a resource the community is very committed to protect and preserve…while still enjoying it to its fullest. While here, cyclists are invited to give back to the trails through trail building workshops. Breck Bike Week is a feast for cyclists of all types and truly communicates the town’s passion for biking.  Includes free New Belgium Beer!

Breckenridge Brewery 21st Anniversary Party
Breckenridge Brewery of Colorado, LLC, is celebrating 21 years of producing fine Colorado ales by hosting an old-fashioned pig pickin’ with live music outside its Denver production brewery at 471 Kalamath Street. From 11:00 a.m. To 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, enjoy great food and fresh beer while listening to live music by the Colorado Goat Ropers Guild and Marty Jones & the Great Unknowns. Between noon and 1:00 p.m. Colorado Craft Beer Radio, AM 760, will air its first live remote radio show from the party.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Colorado Brewers Guild.

Highland Running of the Bulls
In honor of the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain we will be hosting the 1st Annual Highland Running of the Bulls, where you will attempt to outrun members of the Rocky Mountain RollerGirls team wielding foam ball bats. It will be a day of celebration for those who are able to escape the onslaught of the Rocky Mountain RollerGirls, and will raise money for Tennyson Center for Children.  Post race festivities will include music, food, drinks (including Del Norte beer), dancing, and general celebration.   • Carver’s Poker Ride: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Hit the dirt on an all-for-fun, 10 or 20 mile ride marked ride highlighting the best singletrack in town. Arrival at each of the designated checkpoints earns you one playing card. Bring all your cards to the after party to be eligible for cool prizes, and food and beer specials. Best poker hand wins big! (All riders must register at Carvers, the Expo or online atwww.BreckPokerRide.com).
  • Go Fish Ride: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Affectionately named, this is the kids’ version of the Poker Ride. Little ones and their parents will take to some kid-friendly singletrack to collect playing cards along the way. At the end, kids will play a round of Go Fish with another rider and everybody wins a prize. Come to the After Party at Quandary to celebrate.   • Carver’s Poker Ride / Go Fish Ride AFTER PARTY: 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Head down to Quandary Grille to collect your 5th poker card and celebrate with your fellow riders/gamblers. Present your final poker hand for a free beer, then stick around for awards, prizes, and food and drink specials.

  • Ripstoke Trials Show: 2:00 p.m. Athletes use technical skills to finesse their bicycles over seemingly impossible obstacles at the Riverwalk Center. Think aerial wheelies, rearwheel- balancing maneuvers and six-foot drops to flat land. $5.
