Old South Pearl Continues Summer Concert Series with South Pearl Jam

My dearest Dead, Panic, and Phish fans: gather round for your local jam band festival here in Denver.

Denver’s Old South Pearl kicked off its 5th annual summer concert series with BrewGrass.  Next up is a new festival added to the series: South Pearl Jam Festival this Saturday, July 9th from 12pm (noon) to 10pm.

Old South Pearl, the historic stretch between I-25, Evans, Downing, and Broadway (about 6 miles from downtown) boasts its fair share of restaurants, bars, art galleries, specialty stores and more.  It’s lightrail-able (to the Louisiana Pearl Station on the E/F/H line), cab-able, and drivable.  And you’ll want to take advantage of the former two this weekend so you can enjoy the brews.

The event will run similar to its summer concert cousins.  For entry, adults pay $5 (beer is acquired through the purchase of tokens) and kids under 12 are free.  BrewGrass beers included Great Divide, Strange, Deschutes, New Belgium, Backcountry Brewery and more, so we imagine South Pearl Jam will run the same course.  I’d be disappointed if we didn’t see a few Dead skulls, bears, and a few other jam band culture insignia.

Here’s the lineup:

  • DJ Mikey Thunder (1-1:30pm)
  • Kinetix (1:30-2:30pm)
  • Signal Path (2:45-4pm)
  • Mountain Standard Time (4:15-5:30pm)
  • The Congress (5:45-7pm)
  • Kyle Hollingsworth (7:15-8:45pm)
  • The Motet (8:45-10pm)

If you need a reprieve from the events, check out what else Old South Pearl has to offer.

The bookend to the Old South Pearl concert series is Blues & Brews (my absolute favorite) on Saturday, August 13th.  You should go ahead and put that in your day planner right now.
