What a fine cocktail - The Yeti Molé

We get it.  You’re hot stuff.

Maybe you made it to Food & Wine in Aspen where Avery Brewing Company and Peak Spirits threw down the challenge to create amazing beer cocktails.

Maybe you made it this Monday to the Colorado Cocktail Project to find Colorado’s cocktail, Marnie Ward’s “Tree Line”.

Maybe you’re fascinated by Colorado spirits, the growing beer culture, and the emerging cocktail community.

Maybe you just give a damn about what you drink in your glass.

And now you’re going to see all that, above, combined in one event.  Star Bar Denver, Peak Spirits, and Avery Brewing Company invite you all to the 1st Annual Colorado Beer Cocktail Party on Sunday, July 17 at 6:00-9:00pm at Star Bar Denver (2137 Larimer Street).

Beer cocktails will be mixed with Peak Spirits Cap Rock Vodka and Gin combined with Avery’s regular line up, the Dictator Series, and the Holy Trinity of Ales.  (No, you didn’t misread that–it’s like the Avengers of booze.) And guess who’s gonna make these incredible creations?  Colorado’s finest bartenders (this list is subject to change):

• Ryan Caple – Lou’s Food Bar – Denver
• Ryan Conklin – Euclid Hall – Denver
• Burton Daniel – BitterBar – Boulder
• Britt Henze – Mateo – Boulder
• Bianca Huggins – Amaro Drinkery Italia – Boulder
• Matt Lanning – Pacifica – Aspen
• Justin Lloyd – Star Bar – Denver
• Brian Melton – TBD (formerly TAG) – Denver
• Greg Van Wagner – Oak At Fourteenth (which shall rise again) – Boulder

They will be mixing up ridiculous beverages like the ‘All White AveryThing’, the ‘Italian Car Bomb’, ‘Summer’s Salvation’, ‘Hops not Tonic’, and more.  We’re getting thirsty just thinking about it.

That’s the what and when.  Now you’re wondering about the how.  This will be an invitation-only event.  Starting July 7th, invites will be available at participating “home” bars and restaurants (or Avery’s tasting room in Boulder).  Visit their bars, sample their beer cocktail, and ask for a postcard invite.  And then join us as we circle the wagons on the day of the big event, July 17th.

So mark your calendars, folks, for July 17th.  You’ll see a great intimate introduction to the growing popularity of beer cocktails and see how it plays a part in the emerging craft cocktail movement.  Plus, these guys know how to throw a party.
