Celebrating Create Denver week, Wynkoop is serving a super small batch (40 gallons total) of their new creation, Pollinator. Full press release:
Tonight we are releasing a very limited-release, cask-conditioned beer in honor of Create Denver Week.
Pollinator is the result of a beer-blessed brainstorm between our team, the city’s Create Denver crew, design firm Design & Image, and local print guru Rick Griffith of Matter. Griffith created handmade coasters with the Pollinator logo crafted by Design & Image. The coaster art is attached to this note.
The ultra-small-batch (just 40 gallons) beer is available in just four firkins that will be served only at Create Denver events, starting tonight at the kickoff event at Spire. The beer will flow again from two more firkins Friday night at Spire. One firkin will be served at a special event on Saturday at City O’ City. Other Wynkoop beers will also be served at these events.
These live cask ales were made by our head brewer, Andy Brown, from a base beer of our St Charles ESB. The beer was then spiked with oak chips, grains of paradise and an addition of dry hops.
All four of the firkins were then primed (for live, natural carbonation) with local honey from the bee hives atop Denver’s grand dame of hotels, The Brown Palace.
We’re thrilled to have a creative part in the city’s celebration of our rich creative community. Like artisan beer, the local arts and creative communities are giant — and too often unsung — economic and cultural engines in Denver.
