Mountain Sun News: Pliny The Younger and more rarities, new beers

Vine Street (1700 Vine Street) is tapping a 5 gallon keg of Pliny the Younger Monday, March 14th, at 4:20pm. When this kicks – which usually takes about 20-30 minutes, it will be replaced by Pliny the Elder, and then Consecration.

The following Monday, March 21st, Vine Street will tap a rare Mountain Sun brew: Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrel Aged Smokescreen Porter.

At 7.5% ABV, this smoked porter features two varieties of smoked malt.  For the past two months, it’s been aging in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels.

Tonight (March 10) all three pubs (Mountain Sun, Southern Sun, and Vine Street) are tapping the Dirty Blonde, a Belgian style sour blonde aged in Merlot barrels.

Later this month, three more rare ones are coming out. Look for Little Willy Scottish Ale, Chicken Hawk IPA, and Olde Skiddy, an English style barley wine. And some old favorites come back: St. Amos Belgian Style Wit, Swan Song Pale Ale, Bombshell Blonde, Resinous Rye IPA, and Redemption Red.

Thanks for the info. Wish I could be there for the Younger. Looking forward to the Little Willy and Olde Skiddy, too.
